I swallowed water and went limp before getting rescued in a swimming pool

Shaking hands with death makes you realize the things that matter in life

It makes you realize how easy it is to go

How easy it is for people to leave your side

They pulled me out and I vomited water before being handed to my mom

I didn’t understand how close I was to being snuffed out

I did, but couldn’t grasp this concept as a child

But when you realize how fragile life is you step away

You decide that

There aren’t many things that matter

But what does matter

Is searching out the few things that do
