“Life sucks, but in a beautiful kind of way.” — Axl Rose

Life can be a fucker. It can destroy everything you thought you had in an instant. It could take all your hard work and set it on fire leaving you standing there with tears in your eyes watching as it turns to ash.

Life doesn’t care about you. Life isn’t a being. You are a being. You are the one that feels what life takes from you. And you are the one that puts in the effort and hard work to create everything you’ve dreamed of.

And that’s what makes you great. The fact that you are aware of your effort and hard work. The fact that you feel so broken when your hard work goes up in flames and burns to ash right in front of your eyes, is the gift. Sometimes it’s hard work, sometimes it’s just life mowing you down to your last nerve. But you feel it.

That fact that you feel it means that you are human and humans are gifted with the ability to create in so many different ways. That’s why we are still here. We are still moving forward. So yea life can fuck you and life can feel real horrible. And it’s going to. After having 5 miscarriages. After trying year after year to produce a healthy child, my best friend and life partner decided I was no longer enough. Six years of hard work destroyed over a matter of weeks. And this all happened while I was still healing from finally producing a child. It’s fucked up. But I’m here. I created every single day during that heartbreak because it felt like that was all I had in me. Life did not give two shits about how I felt. Or how I still had to continue living a life I never planned for. And I felt every single thing. Any feeling you could think ran through my veins every day.

Then I began to rebuild. I started with my confidence. Then I returned to writing more seriously. Then slowly but surely things started to feel better. Life started to be mine and mine only. I regained control in ways I haven’t been able to ever in my life. I embraced my humanity. I embraced my womanhood and I accepted my ability to understand and love others in ways most people can not.

So with that being said, yea life fucking sucks sometimes but we are resilient and we make it through even better than when we went in. Stay strong. Keep creating. Keep growing.
